A pianist and composer originally from Western NY, DJ Brady graduated summa cum laude in May of 2007, earning degrees in Composition and Piano Performance/Pedagogy from SUNY Fredonia. Former teachers include Dr. Kevin Lieb and Mrs. Phyllis East (piano), and Mrs. Nancy Strelau and Dr. Donald Bohlen (composition).
In the fall of 2007, DJ moved to Los Angeles in order to hone his skill as a ﬁlm composer. He was accepted into the prestigious Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program at the University of SouthernCalifornia. Because of his hard work and devotion to the ﬁlm music art, DJ was selected as a recipient of the Harry Warren music scholarship in May 2008. After graduating with top honors, DJ is currently pursuingfree-lance work within the music industry. His music can currently be heard on the CBS hit The Amazing Race, as well as in several independent ﬁlms and web series.
As composer, DJ has written for an array of musical media, including works for orchestra, wind ensemble, and mixed choir, as well as chamber music, art songs, electronic music, music for dance, opera,and ﬁlm music. DJ has also worked as an orchestrator, and assisted the music preparation team for feature ﬁlms Miracle at St. Anna, Cats & Dogs 2: Revenge of Kitty Galore, and Hop. DJ is also the current composer for Bel Air Presbyterian Church’s BADD, a ﬁlm production company that produces around 40 shorts a year.
